DIMITRIS
DASKALOPOULOS Born in Athens in 1957. He holds a BA in Management Studies from the Athens School of Management (1975-1979) and an MBA in Management from the Northwestern University in Chicago, USA (1979-1981). He is fluent in English and French. He is member of the Board of the Federation of Greek Industries, Chairman of the Federation of Hellenic Food Industries, member of the National Agricultural Policy Council, board member of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, member of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Greece, the Greek Management Association, the Greek Institute of Management, and many others. He is also member of the boards of several other companies listed in the Athens Stock Exchange. On EU level, he is member of the EUROGLACES (European Ice Cream Association), of the Federation of Greek Food Industries to the CIAA (Confederation of the Food and Drink Industries of the EU) and of the European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT). He is the Chairman & CEO of DELTA HOLDING S.A., a group of companies of European dimension and the largest Greek food processor and distributor with sales/turnover exceeding USDlrs 500 mil. and 4,000 employees. DELTA's product mix includes pasteurised milk, yoghurt, cheese and butter, chilled fruit juices, ice cream, frozen foods, catering and services. Being a true believer in the potential for success of the Greek industries in Eastern Europe, he was one of the first businessmen to realize the immense opportunities existing in the markets of southeastern Europe and it was under his leadership that DELTA commenced its expansion in the countries of the Balkan Peninsula. DELTA DAIRY S.A. owns 2 factories in Greece. The yoghurt production factory situated in the northern suburbs of Attica and the milk & juice plant, a state-of-the-art factory, one of the most modern plants in Europe, situated in the industrial zone of Athens. DELTA ICE CREAM S.A. owns 1 ice-cream plant in Greece and 3 plants in S.E. Europe, namely in Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. The company currently operates the largest networks of distribution in the Balkans and holds leading positions in all the ice cream markets where its products are present. GENERAL FROZEN FOODS S.A. owns 2 factories situated in Salonica. ARLA FOODS HELLAS S.A. owns 1 cheese production unit in Greece. The GOODY'S Group of companies, besides the GOODY'S S.A., a quick service restaurant industry with 155 restaurants in Greece and 6 abroad and FLOCAFÉ ESPRESSO BARS with 36 outlets throughout Greece, owns 4 production units in Greece. DELTA's presence in southeastern Europe is emphasised with its particular competitive production basis with 3 ice cream plants operating in Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. In Europe on the whole, DELTA's presence is strong including also countries such as FYROM, Cyprus, Lebanon, England, Germany and Italy. His personal interests and hobbies vary from being an adventure trips lover, mountain climber and keen photographer, a modern art collector, a pioneer in businesses of innovative form to the evolution of the modern world.
