The Greek full-service telecommunications provider OTE SA announces that its subsidiary Hellas Sat signed an agreement with the Hellenic Republic for the provision of satellite TV services (Direct To Home, DTH).

With this license OTE Group may now provide pay-TV services through a satellite, offering thereby more choices to Greek customers. It should be noted that OTE Group already provides satellite TV services in Romania, via its product offering "Dolce" which was launched by its local subsidiary, RomTelecom and supported by the satellite Hellas Sat 2. Hellas Sat also works with the popular Bulgarian satellite platform, Bulsatcom, for the transmission of its TV programs, including high definition TV content (HDTV).
