Pursuant to the provisions of L.3556/2007, OPAP S.A., following the relevant notification received from "Capital Income Builder, Inc" corporation on December 12, 2008 announces that the latter on December 10, 2008 (transaction date) purchased OPAP S.A. shares and directly holds 16,062,040 shares and voting rights, namely reaching 5.0351% percentage of the total share capital of OPAP S.A. and the respective voting rights. Prior to the triggering transaction the number of shares amounted to 15,728,995, namely percentage 4.9307% of the total share capital of OPAP S.A. and the respective voting rights.

The present announcement is published pursuant to the provisions of article 21 of L.3556/2007 and has been posted on the Athens Stock Exchange website (www.ase.gr) and on the company's website (www.opap.gr).
