Dear Mr. Chairman,

Relating to the recent letter by the Capital Market Commission requesting clarifications on an article published on the website "capital.gr" entitled "At the International Monetary Fund, Ch. Hadjiemmanuil", I would like to clarify the following:

By decision 41382 of the Minister of Economy and Finance dated August 27th, 2009, I was appointed Deputy Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund, replacing Mrs Miranda Xafa, effective as of September 28th, 2009.

As we are currently in the middle of the pre election period and the announcement of the decision in question became immediately an object of acute political exploitation, I would like to inform you that under the current circumstances I am unable to accept the appointment.
