November 22, 2006 As part of its corporate social responsibility activities, Alpha Bank is sponsoring the 1st Panhellenic Pupils' Conference, organised by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN) under the auspices of the Greek Ministry for Education and Religious Affairs.
The Conference will be held on Saturday 25 November 2006, from 09.00 to 16.00 hours, at the Athens Hilton. Boys and girls from Nursery, Elementary, and Lower and Upper Secondary Schools from all over Greece will participate in the Conference, whose aim is to raise awareness in children and adults alike about the need for a clean and well looked after environment.
For the first time it will be the children who will take the lead in the Conference: they will present their activities by giving speeches and presenting announcement displays, they will participate in working groups, and they will hold discussions with the audience.
The individual Conference themes are the following:
- Reduction, re-use and recycling of garbage.
- Protection and showcasing of natural environments.
- Preservation of clean environment.
- Sensitization of society and collaboration with Local Government.
This is one more action in the framework of the collaboration of Alpha Bank with HSPN for the "Blue Flag" and "Garbage-free Nature" programmes.
