January 25, 2007 Piraeus Bank announces that it is going ahead with its public tender offer, as the Supreme Court of Cyprus judgment does not enter into the merits of the Cyprus SEC ruling giving priority to the Piraeus Bank public tender for the acquisition of Marfin Popular Bank.
The Court's judgment concerns the fine imposed to Marfin Popular Bank and the Cyprus Stock Exchange has authority to determine anew whether to impose sanctions.
