January 15, 2007 Piraeus Bank S.A. announces that today it submitted to the Board of the Cyprus Stock Exchange - according to Regulation 9 (3) 'regarding Public Offer for acquisition or purchase of securities and merger of listed companies'- the Document of its Public Offer addressed to the shareholders of MARFIN POPULAR BANK PUBLIC CO LTD. The Public Offer Document was also notified to the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and the Board of Directors of MARFIN POPULAR BANK PUBLIC CO LTD.
