PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES
August 5, 2008 Piraeus Bank announces that following the decision of the Annual Ordinary General Shareholders' Meeting (dated 3.4.2008) and the resolution of the Board of Directors (dated 4.4.2008), on 4/8/2008 it purchased 13.800 own shares, through the ATHEX member Piraeus Securities S.A., with average cost price 18,90 per share and total purchase price 260.881,84.
