August 11, 2008 Piraeus Bank announces that following the decision of the Annual Ordinary General Shareholders' Meeting (dated 3.4.2008) and the resolution of the Board of Directors (dated 4.4.2008), on 8/8/2008 it purchased 124.800 own shares, through the ATHEX member Piraeus Securities S.A., with average cost price euro 17,67 per share and total purchase price euro 2.204.668,00
