January 16, 2004 The company PC SYSTEMS in the frame of its dynamic participation in Education's modernization, materialized recently the Supply Project of Wireless Internet to School Units of the Secondary Education Management of West Thessaloniki. The open competition took place within the framework of the Enterprise Program of the Society of Information on 11/03/2003 and the contract was signed between PC SYSTEMS and University of Macedonia. Specifically, the project was concerning the supply and installation of Network Equipment and Infrastructure for the wireless Internet connection of School Units of West Thessaloniki. The benefits of the specific project is the compression of the telecommunication fees, the possibility of Network expansion with low costs and the achievement of high speed connection, that gives the users the capability to use new services like Web casting, Real time video and sound delivery, services of Virtual Libraries, Video-On-Demand, Video-education etc. By this project, PC SYSTEMS contributes to the upgrading of the provided education, the familiarization of the pupils with Information Systems, and the improvement of the communication between the members of the School community. The materialization of the solution of PC SYSTEMS for Wireless Network, was based on CISCO SYSTEMS's products for the supply of routers, while regarding the supply of wireless networks, the solution was based on products of the company Alvarion. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that PC SYSTEMS is a certified partner of CISCO (Cisco Silver Partner).
