Bank of Greece governor comment

March 16, 2007 Greece's Attica Bank does not face any solvency problems following comments by its managing director the bank was at risk if its employees did not join a new pension fund, Bank of Greece governor Nicholas Garganas said on Thursday. "There is no solvency problem with Attica Bank", Garganas, also ECB governing council member, said in a speech to Parliament". "I want to reassure the markets. There is no problem with Bank of Attica. Its share capital increase is covering its capital needs", he said.
