January 15, 2009 At the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Cyprus Public Company Ltd ('the Bank') held today, the Board has examined a letter from ?r Christos Pantzaris announcing his resignation from his position as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank. Mr Pantzaris completes 75 years of age and, according to the Articles of Association of Bank of Cyprus, must retire from the Board of Directors prior to the next Annual General Meeting of the Bank. The Board of Directors accepted Mr Pantzaris' resignation and expressed its warmest thanks for his valuable and longstanding contribution to the Group which he has served as a member since 1974, as Vice-Chairman from 1988 to 2004 and as Chief Executive of the Bank from 1995 to 2004.
