October 16, 2008 EFG Eurobank Ergasias S.A. ("the Bank") announces, in accordance with Regulation of the Commission of the European Community no 2273/2003, article 4, par.4, that following the decision of the Annual General Meeting of the Shareholders of the Bank dated April 8, 2008, and the resolution of its Board of Directors of that date, it purchased, on 15 October 2008, through the Athens Exchange Member Eurobank EFG Securities Investment Firm S.A., 205,500 own shares with average cost price euro 11.59 per share and total purchase price euro 2,381,890.54.
