May 2, 2008 A.KALPINIS - N.SIMOS SA, pursuant to its agreement with "HELLENIC HALYVOYRGIA" and "TRIGONIS BROS" group of companies, to jointly cooperate in the field of processing and distributing steel products in Romania, proceeded via its affiliate KALPINIS - SIMOS ROM S.R.L.,which will be renamed to "BALKAN IRON GROUP S.R.L." (B.I.G. S.R.L.), to the purchase of two plots in the area of Bucharest, Romania. Specifically, the company finalized the acquisition of two pieces of land near Bucharest with the area amounting 60,000 m2 and 20,000 m2 accordingly and total value reaching euro 2 mil. plus VAT. The location of the two plots was strategically selected in order to best serve our goal that is the establishment and installation of an ultra modern steel service centre aiming at covering the needs of the Romanian market. Moreover, the existence of railway connection in the first of the two plots is expected to facilitate the timely and economical transportation of the products in the greater Balkan area. This investment is part of the euro 12 mil. investment plan, which is going to be realized by "B.I.G. S.R.L.". Via this joint venture with "HELLENIC HALYVOYRGIA" and "TRIGONIS BROS" group of companies, KALPINIS - SIMOS Group is gradually materializing its business plan in order to expand its activities in the SE European area.
