| Athens Exchange | | Approval of the merger ASE-ADEX | | September 2, 2002 The decision number K2 – 10999/30.08.2002 of the General Secretariat of Commerce, which approves the merger of the joint stock companies ATHENS STOCK EXCHANGE S.A. and ATHENS DERIVATIVES EXCHANGE S.A. was registered in the Register of Joint Stock Companies on August 30, 2002.
As of August 31, 2002, following the approval of the competent department of the Ministry of Development, the trade name of the new company is ATHENS EXCHANGE S.A.
The objective of the new company ATHENS EXCHANGE S.A. is the organizing, support and monitoring of the trading of securities, derivative products and other stock market products, the securing of the smooth operation of the market and the protection of the investing public, as well as the provision of all related activities.
High level services will continue to be provided unhindered on a basis of a daily support of the two markets by the human resources of the new company.
